Success for the JCB Manufacturing and Engineering Academy
Capital Equipment News 20 May 2010Britain’s first regional academy in Staffordshire for Manufacturing and Engineering has been an overwhelming success. The JCB Academy already has a waiting list as the £22 million regional centre of learning is already fully subscribed despite not opening until September.
The Academy, which has 170 pupils enrolled for year 10 and Sixth Form places, has been designed to encourage young engineers of the future. The courses have been designed so that 120 Year 10 students will study the core GCSE’s as well as studying towards a Diploma in Engineering and Business, whilst 50 Year 12 Sixth Form students will study for an Advanced Engineering and Advanced Business Diploma.
