Green light given for Humber Wind Farm
April 15th, 2011
By
The project will consist of 77 turbines; this will generate enough power for an estimated 150,000 homes, making it one of the UK largest wind farms. The farm will be developed by well known power generator E.ON. Michael Lewis, managing director for E.ON’s European renewable business, said: “This is really exciting news for us as we see offshore wind as an important part in the future energy mix of the UK’’.
This is great investment for the Yorkshire region, not only will the farm be providing greener energy but it will give the economy a much needed boost, offering the local people of Yorkshire new job opportunities.
