Haribo to open factory in Leeds, West Yorkshire
May 25th, 2011
By Lee
The company has already created a strong presence within the Food Industry and currently has 16 factories, the company already has a factory based in the Yorkshire area situated in Pontefract, which currently employs 478 people, and plans to recruit a further 286 employees for the new Leeds based facility. It is understood the company has been running out of space at their current Pontefract location after achieving double-digit year on year sales growth for the past three years, the company has been looking for a suitable area based in Yorkshire to expand.
Haribo has received a grant from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund towards the planned expansion, which will create a recruitment drive in the Yorkshire area.
Haribo arrived in the UK nearly 40 years ago after buying a stake in the Yorkshire based company Dunhills, and will create a stronger presence in the Yorkshire with the new site plans.
