Medical Device Jobs: Europe set to inject $228M in to drug development.
Medical News 15 Sep 2009It has been announced by the European Commission and members of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations that $228M will be injected in to the field of drug development in an effort to improve upon Europe’s position as a leader in the field of drug discovery (Fiercebiotech.com).
The Innovative Medicines Initiative, which agreed to a $360M package to support the search of new drugs at the beginning of the year, will be handling this cash injection. The money is intended to make Europe more attractive to the R&D field of pharmaceuticals says Janez Potocnik , EU Commissioner for Science and Research (Fiercebiotech.com).
