Job Description

Dudley Child is working with a well established, global manufacturing organisation. This specialist within Industrial machinery and equipment, rotating equipment and surfacing technology are focused on the appointment of a Technical Support Engineer to be based in the Midlands, UK.

The Role

You will provide technical support to the Branch Network and for large projects as required. Within your key responsibilities and tasks you will;
• Assess the technical content of tender requirements
• Source the data to calculate machine performance
• Process control documentation to meet operational and specific tender requirements
• Provide technical support to the Branch Network on day-to-day operational issues
• Design of job specific insulation systems
• Technical support on repair of Hazardous Area equipment
• Troubleshooting of warranty claims
• Remit to include all Electrical Rotating Machines up to and including 550 MW and Transformers to 100 MVA 

The Person 

The successful candidate will be Degree Educated in a relevant subject (Preferable), HNC, HND, IEE. In terms of your technical background,  experience as a Design Engineer (Construction / Shop Production Management) will be required alongside Machines Testing and Technical Drawings (Reverse Engineering) – CAD experience.

Due to the nature of the role you must be confident and be accustomed to customer service as well as the flexibility to travel overseas for clients and exhibitions as required.

We are interested to see applications from candidate with a background in manufacturing or working within a repair company. Also, exposure to High Voltage Windings, Large Machine Construction and Power Generation will be advantageous.
