An article written by Urotoday.com has outlined that approximately 50% of patients facing prostate cancer (CaP) will use the internet for information with a high volume using popular internet site You Tube for information and advice.

Peter Steinberg and colleagues conducted a study on the You Tube site to assess the accuracy and quality of CaP related videos. Of 228 videos found, 177 were discounted due to unrelated content, this resulted in the assessment of 51 videos overall. Information content was rated as fair or poor in 73% of cases and it was concluded that the site is not a reliable source of CaP information.
