EDF Energies to benefit from Solar Funding - Dudley Child Executive Recruitment

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will provide £443 million to EDF Energies Nouvelle in order to help them develop solar photovoltaic projects in both France and Italy between 2010 and 2012.

The EIB’s total contribution will equal 50% of the total cost required for each project with the rest of the funding being covered by numerous commercial banks. 

The first two pilot schemes will be financed in 2010, the first one at Gabardan, a ground-based solar farm in France and then Loreo, a ground-based solar farm in Italy.
