Environmental regulations drive continuous improvement in Chemical Engineering.
Process & Chemical Industry News 24 Feb 2010DOW Chemicals are benefiting from the product development of Emerson Process Management’s portfolio. The chlorine analysis system, now offered by one of the global leaders in process automation, will allow DOW to improve their monitoring and control capabilities of effluent as well as the speed with which it is processed. Environmental legislation dictates that chlorine concentration is precisely measured throughout, this being one restricting factor of the speed of flow on plant.
Whilst offering an opportunity to improve plant capabilities, the technology also reduces required maintenance activities and the subsequent demands which are placed on the planning and maintenance functions. Waste and therefore cost removal being an additional benefit of the CAPEX investment shown by DOW.
